Show Us Your Life - Pets

I am always writing something about my pets on here! They are my kids for right now and sometimes it gets hard to remember that they are dogs. But then I watch Cesar Millan and try to whip myself back into shape! :)

Bayla is my sweet boy. He is very much a mama's boy. If you want to take a nap, he will snuggle up in no time! Even if he's already been sleeping most of the day!

Then there's Rylie. She will stay awake all night long if someone is awake with her. But she is also a very sweet cuddler. And she is a sucker for some towels or blankets right out of the dryer. I'll get them out of the dryer, throw them on the couch, and she will bury herself in the pile of warm towels.

And she's my little bird hunter. This was two weeks ago at Black Gap in West Texas. She was on alert the entire time!

Check out the 'Dogs' label for more posts on my sweet babies.

My First Dog

01.01.04 ~ 09-18-09

I found out two months ago that my very first dog I ever had on my own passed away.

It is a very long, sordid story, but the short of it is that while I was in Nacogdoches I was dating a guy who bought me a dog for Valentine's Day. She was a Jack Russell and her name was Abbie. She was the cutest little fluff ball I had ever seen!

When I went to Tech, he followed me. A year later, after we had also gotten Bayla, I broke up with him and decided that he could take Abbie. She had always been closer to him and listened to him better than she did me.

So, here is her life with me in pictures.

The very first day we had her, she crawled on my shoulder and went to sleep!

We would find her sleeping in the weirdest places! (Check out the one below!)

She did this to herself!

With my parents dog Zip

On the way to Schulenburg. She loved to sleep on her back!

She was very attentive and aggressive even as a puppy

First time at the creek!

Grandpa teaching her to dig in the sand

She also loved Ryan!

Instead of drinking out of her bowl, she would stand on the toilet and drink out of the sink!

First Halloween

First Lubbock snowfall. For both of us!

She would not go out in the snow unless she had her rubber boots on!

First Christmas!

And then we got Bayla!

She really didn't care for him too much.

Her first hunting trip to Black Gap. And mine too!

Like mother, like daughter. Abbie and Rylie are both great bird hunters!

When I would take a shower, I would turn a heater on, say 'heater', and they would both come running and sit in front of it

She LOVED swimming at the tank!

On December 24, 2005, she had a little of 5 incredibly cute puppies, one of which is Rylie!
